2023. In the spring of 2023, I made long and elaborate video interviews with members of the Estonian racing family Pärtelpoeg: father Meelis and sons Martin and Karl Pärtelpoeg.
Father Meelis Pärtelpoeg talked about how his interest in motorcycles and racing started and how the small village of Äksi has become one of Estonia’s best-known racing centers. Watch the interview on YouTube: https://youtu.be/chDGGR-ZeXY
Brothers Karl and Martin Pärtelpoeg could not really choose any other sport, because their father’s love for motorcycles and especially circuit racing was so great. But the boys were also very determined, because they became the champions of both Estonia and the Nordic countries, and they still love speed and the racing vibe. In the august of 2023, Martin Pärtelpoeg also made a comeback to circuit racing and was able to set a time of 1:15.9 at the Porsche Ring, come second at the Estonian Grand Prix, and beat the reigning Estonian Champion Hanno Velt. We will definitely hear the name of the Pärtelpoeg in connection with motorcycle racing in the future because the next generation is growing up!
